- Of course, you are unlikely to want to video call everyone on your Facebook friends list, so there is also the option to choose certain people as favorites for easy access.

- Some might be wary of having a FB-centric device in their home. Facebook knows this, too, so all the tools in the Portal’s range are building with some physical privacy capabilities.
- Facebook says that all conversations are between you and the people you call and that its Smart Camera technology runs locally on the Portal, not on Facebook’s servers.
- Supposedly, Portal only sends voice commands to the Facebook servers after saying “Hello Portal.” And you can remove Portal voice history in your Fb Activity Log, while your Alexa voice commands can be dragging in the Alexa app.
- Using WhatsApp also means that you also get the added benefit of end-to-end encryption. Therefore, we are not too concerned about privacy with the Portal.
- No more than any other smart home device, or who we are as users of Messenger and WhatsApp.
